Many years of experience have shown that a release switch on the collective lever is a practical and well-functioning solution, especially since the belly hook/cargo swing is normally electrically operated from a switch on the cyclic stick.

The long-line release switch is located on the pilot's collective lever grip. The switch is guarded and labelled "JETT".
